2010 UCI World Cup 4X, Round 1 – Houffalize, Belgium.

May 6, 2010

Last weekend, the 2010 UCI World Cup season started off with Round 1 of the 4X in Houffalize, Belgium. Gates Nicolai Team rider David Graf qualified a superb 9th. However, in the heats, his front tire washed out and he only managed 17th position. I don’t know about you, but it’s fantastic to see a Nicolai rider competing in 4X once again! The last time I remembered seeing a Nicolai in the World Cup 4X was a couple of years ago when Roger Rinderknecht was still riding for them.

One of the highlights was definitely watching NS Bikes rider, Martin Soderstrom, racing on his singlespeed/flat-pedaled Majesty. While everyone else was riding in their jerseys, he was in his jeans, t-shirt and hoodie. The only thing that didn’t look out of place was his full face helmet! It was a lot of fun to watch for sure and he isn’t too bad at all!

Okay enough talk, I’ll leave you guys with a couple of links!
