2010 UCI World Cup DH & 4X Round 6 (Finals) – Windham, USA

August 27, 2010

Can’t believe we’re already reaching the end of the UCI DH and 4X World Cup season already. Round 6 is now underway and Qualifying for the Men’s & Women’s DH is taking place as we speak, with the 4X qualifying in a few hours.

Eyes will definitely be on Greg Minnaar & Gee Atherton as they are now neck and neck in the overall standings, so expect either one of them to be your new Word Cup DH Champion. However, I’m still looking forward to the live telecast of the Men’s DH finals to see how the rest of the field does! Rumour has it that we will see Sam Hill back on his bike this weekend too.

In the Men’s 4X, Jared Graves has once again managed to secure his overall title even before the final round, just like he did in 2009. That makes him 4X World Cup Champion for a second year. So rad. It would be nice though if we could watch him win this round, and I sure hope that he can retain his 4X World Champion title next month too!

I don’t think the Gates Nicolai Team will be participating in this round though, because I don’t see them on the starting lists, but I reckon they should be busy preparing for the World Champs! Edit: Scrap that! I just managed to find the 4X start list and Quentin Derbier is up on Heat 2! For those of you who are willing to stay up, go watch the live telecast of the 4X in 2 hours!

The 4X finals will start on Sunday, and the DH finals on Monday. Don’t forget about the World Championships next week!
