Eurobike 2010: DMR Bolt.

September 4, 2010

Hot damn. What you’re looking at here is the all new DMR Bolt prototype! Honestly, I’ve been waiting for DMR to come up with a slopestyle bike just like this, because we’ve recently had some of the big players in the MTB Dirt/Park/Street industry releasing their full suspension slopestyle/freeride bikes. Black Market came out with their Killswitch, and NS Bikes with their Soda prototype. But DMR has done such a good job keeping it a secret, and I wasn’t expecting them to show it off to the public this early!

DMR stuck to their roots on this frame, building it with heat treated 4130 chromoly. They’ve also designed the swingarm to pivot concentrically around the bottom bracket shell so that the chain tension will not change as the bike goes through it’s 125mm of travel. Definitely an advantage for riders who choose to run this bike singlespeed.

I’m pretty sure that they’ve been testing out the Bolt for a while now, because these guys don’t rush into things when developing products. They would take their time to come out the best products that they can, rather than to compromise on the quality of it. After all, DMR are no strangers to the scene having been around since 1995, producing various components for the MTB Dirt/Park/Street market and CroMo MTB hardtails way before there was even such a thing as Black Market.

Steel is definitely real.

Looks like a very nice bike. I wonder what the price tag would be for this bike in CAD?

Yup i agree! Well as mentioned in the article, the bike should cost around $1300-$1400 USD, which should be around $1400-$1500 CAD with the present currency rates. 🙂
