Nicolai Argon FR29’er – Built to Last.

July 25, 2011

This Nicolai Argon FR29ner was an upgrade from our customers On-One Steel hardtail. He chose the Argon for commuting, as it was an efficient and strong frame, just like how his On-One was.

The Cross Country geometry from the Argon CC Matched with a Freeride frame tube set from the Argon FR just let’s you know that it’s gonna last a long time. .

It wasn’t just about longevity though, it was also about technology with the option to run Gates Carbon Belt drive system.

The anodized black finish is not only lighter than a powdercoated finish, it also provides easy maintenance as it reduces ‘blurring’ of the lacquer from sweat corrosion and neglect in general.

Every pedal stroke counts is efficiently transmitted thanks to the stiff box stay welding technology by Nicolai.

The Argon is alsoRohloff Speedhub equipped. It’s another brilliant example of German handmade technology at its best, providing reliability at every shift of the gears.

Although there’s much complexity, engineering and design involved in building a Nicolai frame. The commitment to give an extra thought and getting what you really require by customization can also be as simple as what you see in this build.

You say Matt Black, lightweight without the paint? What is the finish, is it burnished / anodised?

We sincerely apologise about the confusion. The matt black finish that you see here is anodized, and what we’re trying to say is that it weighs lighter than if it was powdercoated. 🙂

Thanks for pointing that out to us Charlie, we’ll have it edited right away to avoid any more confusion. 😉
