Nicolai Nonius CC – Project CoCa-Cola

August 1, 2011

Repaint, Rebuild, Reuse. Why let these beautiful bikes go to waste? That’s what we have in mind when one of our customer decided to part with this under-used Nicolai Nonius CC and our young apprentice mechanic took up the chance to give this bike some deserving rides and his first very own custom rebuild project.

But due to our local “Nicolai loyalty program” for our repeated customers, this frame has to be repainted from the original Fire Department Red color as that specific color has already found its belonging to a customer whom have more then 3 Nicolai bikes painted in that same color!

Getting it up to date with 10spd X9 Groupset. RaceFace Atlas Cranks running a 2×10 set-up for Trail setting at 130mm travel on the rear and 100mm when the need for some dirt-jump, park, 4x riding is involved.

All these due to the versatility of the rear travel adjustment by different rear shock mounting position on Nicolai frames, and the “AB Tuned” Rockshox Reba U-turn (100-140mm) travel adjustment for multiple application!

Braking power (and matching silver color) comes from a set of Hope M4 brakes equipped with Carbon look GoodRich hoses, matched make with the X7 10spd shifters with the help of Hope Match-Maker Set. Butter smooth Steering work with credits to ChrisKing No Thread set in black.

Not forgetting the special semi gloss Graphite Metallic Bronze paint job with real glitters for you to admire this ride up close.

Another example of function over form – with a little hint of exotic-ness up close!
